A message from Andrew Storer, CEO of the Nuclear AMRC:
The Nuclear AMRC remains open to support manufacturers through this difficult time.
We have more than 145 staff now working from home to meet the needs of our members, customers and stakeholders.
To ensure the health and safety of our staff, we have temporarily suspended projects in our workshops in Rotherham, Birkenhead and Derby in line with government guidelines. As far as possible, we continue to support our partners and customers through delivery of our projects away from our facilities.
If there is any assistance that we can offer you during this trying time, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
Update, 29 June 2020: We are now resuming all suspended R&D projects, in the fourth stage of our five-phase return to full operations.
Contacting staff
All Nuclear AMRC staff can be contacted as usual by email or telephone. We have access to a variety of videoconferencing services for group meetings.
For general enquiries, please email enquiries@namrc.co.uk.

Helping the national response
As part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, we are supporting the national effort to step up production of vital medical equipment such as ventilators. The VentilatorChallengeUK consortium, led by HVM Catapult CEO Dick Elsy, has adapted two proven ventilator designs and is now delivering product to the NHS.
We are also working with our sister centre, the University of Sheffield AMRC, to provide PPE for our local hospitals. We are currently using 3D printers at our Birkenhead and Derby facilities to produce visors for protective face shields, with essential staff only visiting the facilities and following best practice for safe working.
We have advised more than 130 companies from the nuclear supply chain and our local networks on the design, manufacturing techniques and specifications for ventilator and PPE supplies, connecting businesses with local NHS trusts and national programmes where they can use their particular capabilities.
